What must I do to prepare myself to ride?
It is important that you always inspect your ATV before using it. The following check-list will be useful.
- Tires : Check the condition and the pressure
- Fuel and oil tanks : Fill each to the wanted level
- All the breaks : check the functionning, the adjustement and the fluid level (including the auxiliary break)
- Gaz switch : Check the functionning, opening and closing
- Red read headlight / break light : Check the functionning of every direction light and the switches
- Cutting out engine command : Make sure it works
- Wheels : Make sure that they are not lose, check the tightening of the wheels' nuts and axle.
- Transmission chain : Check the condition and the relaxing ; refer to the transmission chain adjustement in your owner's guide.
- Air filter element : Check the cleanliness, clean or replace it if necessary
- Driving : Check the flexibility and detect any unusual untightening
- Untightened pieces : Visually inspect the vehicle to spot any damage or untightened nut/bolt or attach
- Helmet, watertight glasses and clothes : Never drive without wearing protective clothes.
- Engine cooling liquid : Check the level in the bottle.
